Our St Patrick's Celebration at the Hilton hotel in Glendale on the 16th March was an outstanding success according to the feedback we received from the attendees. Entertainment by the Dave Miron Band and the Cleary School of Irish Dance was excellent. The Silent Auction was fun with friends bidding against one another.
The Welsh family were there in full force –forty of them including Brenda, Sue, Tara, Sean & Jacqueline, Lynne, Kevin, Jennifer, Joseph, Kathleen, Christina, Casey, Anastsia, Harmony, Cheylene & Ned, plus friends.
It was great to see Tommy Kiernan recovering from his illness, with his family from all over enjoying the evening. The drawing for the trip to Ireland was won by Kathleen Kiernan.
We would like to thank each and every one of you who supported this annual fundraiser, by your attendance, by donating to the Silent Auction or raffle etc.

The Irish Center's Annual Award in appreciation of the dedication in promoting and supporting Irish Culture in Southern California was presented to Bridget T. Duffy Hana.
Bridget was born and raised in Inishowen, Co Donegal. Ms Duffy was a Senior Management Analyst at the Los Angeles Superior Court. She retired in 2009 after 33 years.

Authentic Irish Pub opened this week in Woodland Hills. J.J. Sullivan's is the real deal. The pub offers a vast array of Irish beers, ales and lagers, including Guinness, Harp, Smithwicks, Kilkenny;
Lot's of Irish whiskey to choose from.
The interior features a tin ceiling, dark wood floors and a hand carved wooden bar that runs the length of the pub. Demott and Kay O'Reilly and Joe and Belinda Lyons have decorated the bar with lots of antiques and photos. There will be some great music over the coming weekends.

Our condolences to the families who have lost loved ones---
Michael Peter Flynn was born in Lackagh, Co Galway on 17th July 1924 and passed on 25th February 2013. Michael was a highly regarded ENT specialist and plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. Dr Flynn is survived by his wife, Heidi; son Peter (Deanne) in San Diego; daughter Dr Kate Flynn; and grandchildren Liam, Lydia and Daniel.
